I came across notes of this stamp mill years ago while doing my normal research. It was a small silver and gold mine and had a stamp mill back before 1900. The mill was run by water power and one reference mentioned the mill was destroyed by an avalanche. Most stamp mills are long gone these days, but I filed this one away. Finally, I found some time and a willing hiking partner and we began our hunt. As is often the case with more remote and hidden sites, our research didn't give the exact location, but we narrowed it down to a relatively small area. We managed to find an old road and it was quite a steep bushwack to get up there. After a few hours of hiking we finally made it. And even though it was a small mill site, it was worth the effort.
