Echo Canyon Petroglyphs
In 2009, I had a nice hike up this sandy canyon to check out some algae fossils and petroglyphs on limestone bedrock. Not much out here in these lonely hills of eastern Death Valley National Park.
Old Crump Flat
Dan and I had been wanting to go out here for some time. The site is not difficult to reach; we could just never seem to find the time to get out to this part of Death Valley.
The Gallery Pictograph Site
Finding this incredible pictograph site took some time and a long hike. The site had been on our list for a long time, and after some searching, we finally found it. And what a site it is! It is reportedly a Ghost Dance site.

Also known as Renegade Canyon or Little Petroglyph Canyon, the Coso Petroglyph Site is the largest concentration of petroglyphs in North America. The canyon has more than 20,000 pecked petroglyphs in a 1- 1/2 mile section. Possibly even more amazing is about half of them are of bighorn
