I had the chance to get out on a cold winter day in 2008, so I decided to try and hunt down some mines I had been wanting to check out for some time.
The first mine I went to I haven’t been able to find any information on and the second isn’t that much better. The Gladstone Mine looks like it was owned by famous local Charles Brown in the late 1930s and shipped some gold, silver, lead, and copper ore in 1939. But it is possible to have its origins in 1879 with a small stock swindle.
