Dan wanted to find a mine he had heard a rumor about in the wilds of the Death Valley backcountry, so off we went. It was a long hike across the scorching desert – typical for the Death Valley area. We didn’t return to our trucks until after dark, but it was well worth the journey. The mine is remote and rarely visited.

Of course, we left everything there, including the bottles. (Besides being illegal to remove, bottles and artifacts are cheap and add much to the history of the mine out in the field.) Please do the same.

"Mormon" isn't the actual name of the mine. I'm not naming it or disclosing its location to protect it.
