Scallywag Mine
The mine is really called the Jubilee Lead Mine but everyone calls it the Scallywag Mine because of a road sign mounted on the ore bin with that name at the mine. One wonders where that sign came from.
Alice Hunt Pictograph Shelter
A few years ago, a few friends and I went out to search for some rock art sites in a canyon in Death Valley. It was still pretty early in the season, so it wasn’t hot yet.
We were hunting for some petroglyph and pictograph sites in the canyon.
Camel Track Canyon
My friends, Larry and Janene from Moby Goes, took us on a little trip over to what I’m calling “Camel Track” Canyon out in Death Valley country. The actual small canyon is unnamed on the map.
Death Valley Incinerator
Dan and I visited a little-known incinerator inside Death Valley National Park. It is an interesting little site. There are bits of historic trash here and there, but not too much else. Amazingly, this isn’t the only one in the park.
