A set of Virgin Anasazi pictographs is inside a collapsed lava tube in the Arizona Strip. They believed that caves were the entrance to the spirit world. This is a sacred place. The pictographs are protected from the elements by the cave ceiling, and as such, they are particularly vibrant.

This lone petroglyph boulder is way out in a wash deep into the Joshua Tree wilderness. We suspect it served as a signpost for Indians to find other sites which aren’t too far away. The 'key' symbols are a very interesting element in this panel.
