Owlhead Mountains Slot Canyons
Back in early 2019, I met up with Dale and Brian to explore some slot canyons in the southern reaches of Death Valley – namely in the Owlhead Mountains.
Toroweap Overlook
High above the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon is the Toroweap Overlook. It is the steepest cliff in the canyon, with a 3,000-foot drop to the river below. It is an incredible view and landscape. It is worth the journey to reach it.

Forest Rose Mill
During the summer of 2017, we visited a few cabins and mills in Montana. While tiring, we covered a lot of ground, and it was a great trip!
Scott and O'Brien Cabin

I recently followed an ancient Native American trail out to a water tank and petroglyph site. What got my attention to this site was the report of historical inscriptions and the fact that it is way off of other Native American trails I knew about.
Holbrook Prospect

Black Hands Pictographs
I found these solitary black pictographs hidden under a pile of granite boulders out at the northern end of Joshua Tree National Park. The pictographs here are very faded. A casual passerby wouldn’t even notice them. You have to know what you are looking for and stop a minute
