The Little Giant Mines were a group of small gold producers near Townsend, Montana. There were 11 separate veins along Giant Hill which were technically worked by separate mines at one time. There isn't much written on these mines aside from them existing prior to 1901 and producing over 15,000 oz of gold equivalent.
There are a few old buildings on the hill in various conditions. Sadly the mine openings were destroyed by mine closure crews, but the site is still worth seeing for the surface features.
On the east side of the hill was the original Little Giant workings. The cabins nearby are standing but the insides are trashed. There is very little left of this part of mine itself.
