Camel Track Canyon My friends, Larry and Janene from Moby Goes, took us on a little trip over to what I’m calling “Camel Track” Canyon out in Death Valley country. The actual small canyon is unnamed on the map.
Antelope Cottonwood Mill We found this small modern mill that seems often overlooked on Chidago Loop Road in the Benton Hills north of Bishop. The equipment is a mixture of new and old. It is nice to see so much of it still here. Hopefully, it remains that way.
Little Boulder Valley Petroglyphs In 2008, Dan led us out to a small native site that he had discovered. It seems to be a very old and isolated site in this little valley. (Although, we should really poke around in the hills around here some more.) We found a few more artifacts than he
Pachalka Springs Petroglyphs In 2007, Dan and I came across this petroglyph site while on our way to another site. You never know what you’ll find when you are out exploring. These Desert Archaic petroglyphs don’t show up well on the limestone. They were a surprising find.
Death Valley Incinerator Dan and I visited a little-known incinerator inside Death Valley National Park. It is an interesting little site. There are bits of historic trash here and there, but not too much else. Amazingly, this isn’t the only one in the park. I've been asked not to disclose
White Rambler Mine In early 2009, we went off searching for a few seldom-visited mines on a cold and overcast winter day. It was nice hiking in this remote, isolated corner of Death Valley National Park. The mines are small and more modern. I couldn’t find any information on them.
Telegraph City I had wanted to check out this area for a while, and one day, we were able to meet up with a few exploring buddies and go out there.
